Yahoo Groups closing?

It seems Yahoo is closing its groups:

Time to migrate to IO groups? And download all files available before thay are lost.

They should all come here. For these kinds of discussions (as opposed to, I dunno, sharing pictures of cats or food), forums are vastly better than social media groups. There, I said it. Anyone who disagrees can fight me.

I agree, but there are a lot of guys that use the yahoo group, and many files are uploaded in that site.

As an infrequent visitor to the yahoo group these days (much prefer this forum to yahoo or FB), my main concern would be for the files that will be deleted in their entirety (in December?).

While there’s a lot that are probably outdated, there’s probably some useful stuff worth saving/transferring but not sure by whom and to where.

Why not upload the relevant files to the appropriate Lardy FB group?

Being a novice, can you put sub directories on FB files so people cab find stuff easier?

I've got plenty of room on Vis Lardica...but that would be as a static holding place that only I could upload to.

Vis, I think that’s a great idea, to ensure that we retain an archive of the yahoo files, thanks for the offer. Maybe just do it ‘just in case’ the deadline passes before we know it?
