Saw an engine warm up at Brooklands of a Sopwith Camel, I always thought of them in terms of tuned and pimped lawnmower engines, but the power and noise coming out of it was staggering, more F1 than Hover - Mower! Clip below

Bristol Beaufighter night fighter/ Coastal Command, always had a soft spot for the fugly beast since seeing it for real at Hendon, it's a big beast!

During the early 1980s I took part in a UK government make-work scheme called the Community Programme (anyone remember that?) in which I worked at the Shuttleworth Historic Aircraft Collection at Old Warden in Bedfordshire for a few months.
Amongst the other more menial tasks I had one of my favourite gigs was polishing the cowling and forward fuselage of the collection's Hawker Hart with Duraglit.
