Where IS Lard Island

Post by Danni1 » Thu Jan 10, 2019 4:07 pm

As long as I am on a roll questions -wise, (Idle hands are the Danni's workshop and all that) I have been wondering for a while now where the fabled Lard Island is located? Is it somewhere in Yorkshire, run by burly Yorkshire lads who serve Yorkshire pies with creamy lard -filling on the side? Or it is in glamorous, exotic downtown London, where Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman stop by for a impromptu round of shopping whilst in the midst of yet again running Professor Moriarty to earth? Inquiring minds (Well, at least one inquiring mind anyways) would like to know...

Somewhere off the coast of St. Albans, I believe. Or so the legends say.

Its reputedly in St Albans, northwest of London, in a lake surrounded by crocodiles and other dangerous creatures. Few have ventured there and lived to return, it being traditional to stuff visitors with curry before ritually drowning them in cooking lager. :-)

From time to time the natives are allowed out to share their quaint local customs with fellow cultists at Lard Days at various venues across the UK.

Allegedly it's not the source of all these sewer fatbergs.

St. Albans? Wasnt that a series of British movies about a girls school full of recidivist pupils with a flair for arson and lower forms of thuggery? ?

That was St Trinians. But it wouldn't surprise me if Lard Island was in the general area.

Only when Rich has been overindulging in the cooking lager - which is probably most of the time, come to think of it! :D
