Possible Posh Lard Jun 2 2019 - interest?

Post by TroubleAtTheMill » Tue Apr 16, 2019 9:25 am

If I were to arrange a Posh Lard day on Sunday June 2nd, would there be interest? (that's Peterborough town centre - plenty of free parking, nearby pubs and hotel)

Specifically, the plan would be to run mostly games that commemorate D-Day’s 75th anniversary, so largely Normandy based WW2, although:
a) if someone wanted to bring someone else I wouldn’t object
b) it’s not impossible we may have a club game that isn’t Lard.

In particular, this would be a chance for some folks to have a crack at Bloody Omaha :D

No commitment as yet, but a show of interest would allow me to make plans.

To clarify: Peterborough town centre, at our club - on site free parking, handy Wetherspoons/McD's/Subway/Waitrose for lunch. handy very nice Thai restaiurant/real ale pub about 5 mins walk away for post-game meal, two hotels within walking distance for those who've come a long way, 3 mins walk from the station, 10 mins from the A1.

Need really a minimum of 10 folks to make this viable. If you could express an interest on here or anywhere else its mentioned before the end of April, then I can give it the nod or not.

I think I can do this Mike, subject to confirmation with the domestic authorities.

My heart says to put on Ferrocarril de Veracruz, contra-guerrilla operations in 1860s Mexico for Sharp Practice but my head tells me I put a lot of work into the Menton 1940 terrain and should run Italian Invasion of France for CoC.

I suppose I could put on whichever complements the other games offered?

Sorry Mike, I’m away that weekend - juggling work and dice rolling rather too much right now!

Right, having now listened to The Miller’s Tale episode 6, I hear that you’re looking for D-Day related games. Obviously neither of mine are that.

Will you accept off-theme games? If so I think Maximilian Adventure would be best - no point bringing yet another WW2 game that doesn’t fit.

We're toying with 'Invasion' as the theme, actually :D possibly a Dux B Saxon sea raid as well.
