Re: Odds of various things happening in Chain of Command...

Love that post... really good info.. I tend to do those kinds of analysis often ( as it is close to my line of work ) but I hadn't gotten around doing it for CoC yet.. thanks !!! You don't need it to play, really, but it helps when you are thinking about scenarios to factor the probabilities of task...

Re: Secrets of the Third Reich

Ok I can post more details later but here are some basics.. The SOTR minis have these germans with "packed" LMGs, I did those as the bren on any other magazine fed LMG, BUT, since they have "optical range finders" I gave them a close range of 24" The US troops had standard belt fed LMGs. Both sides ...

One quick question on pinned units and shock

So something came up to me the other day. If I have two teams from a section that are operating together, for whatever reason one of the teams has 4 guys and 5 shock, but while being within 4" of the other team the total shock does not exceed the number of figures hence they are not pinned.. If the ...

Secrets of the Third Reich

We did a game of Chain of Command last Sunday with my secrets of the third reich miniatures.. It is the game I expect to run at Millennium Con in November.. It was fun, it is weird world war II in 1949 so it includes more assault rifles, zombies and body armor... It is not hard to adjust CoC of cour...

Re:  Command Dice roll of 4 : deploy

I read it like that at first, but then reading through other parts of the rules and looking at the examples my interpretation is that you can choose not to deploy if you don't want to ( for example to keep the senior officer in the director mode to make sure troops are not delayed ). I believe the "...

Re: Of game length, turn end, routing and mission 3

Yes I agree, even if this is not FoW if a scenario is too one-sided people will just not have fun playing it very often, so I think that this is still a valid question and there is room to fully clarify the victory conditions. As I mentioned before I personally cannot form an opinion yet on that sce...

Re: Of game length, turn end, routing and mission 3

1. I believe at least in these scenarios there is no limit of turns.. you continue until one side breaks as per the morale rules. 2. I don't see this point as gamey. To me something gamey is an action based on the use of a rule that intends to represent one thing and it is use to exploit a side effe...

Re: Fire vs crew manning pintle mounted MG

So would that show up as a special rule for certain vehicles with more exposed pintle MG or it is just up to the GM to treat this as very particular cases...

thanks for the guidance on this, it is pretty helpful...

cheers
