Re: Some solo thoughts

I use Platoon Forward to play IABSM solo and I have to say enjoy it immensely! I tend to link scenarios together dependent on the time in the war. Blinds are placed on table but I label them as type A, B or C and when spotted or activated then you roll for their composition. This can result in some ...

Re: Risk to Generals

Thanks for all of the comments. When we are playing Pickett’s Charge we all agree we are attempting a simulation and so we all generally agree on the situation in hand and decide accordingly, if there is disagreement a dice roll suffices! I appreciate with the more competitive players you need the r...

Re: 1815 Explanation required

Thanks for your advice nikjen66 and thank you Trailape for your explanation - blaming it upon your Antipodean ancestry! Well perhaps my Germanic side comes to the fore every now and then! My family is originally Hanoverian, three members of my family fought at Waterloo in the KGL, one fought at Lang...

Re: Battalions with different numbers of bases

Good point, Polish Lancer - just thought that as the number of bases units can deploy to reinforce the skirmish line is equal to the number of bases that make up the battalion (p.67), by reducing the number of bases to 2/3/4 the number of allowable skirmish bases would also need to be reduced. Not c...

Re: 1815 Explanation required

Meaning of optional? - "available to be chosen but not obligatory" to quote the dictionary. Don't know what index you are using but mine downloaded from the site does not contain the word 'grenadier'. Just thought it would nice to mention this to people who are new to the rules and do not have the p...

Battalions with different numbers of bases

Need a bit of advice. My 28mm Napoleonics are mounted for Principles of War ruleset, so most battalions have 3 bases. I think I can just change the number of bases per unit; 2 for small, 3 for standard, 4 for large. The number of skirmisher bases generated would also need to be reduced to 2/3/4 and ...

Re: 1815 Explanation required

Thank you. A simple sentence with 'some of these scenarios make use of the optional rules' would have helped. They are not even mentioned in the index.

1815 Explanation required

Looked forward to starting the first scenario, Gilly yet the first thing I notice is two new grades for infantry 'grenadier' and 'reservist'. No explanation. I look back at the rulebook to see if I have missed something - no mention in there, perhaps the amendments? Nothing. Can I have an explanatio...
