Re: AFV machine gun

Ah enjoy TT.

20mm doesn't count as normal HE though so no fixed 4+ hit regardless of range.

Re: AFV machine gun

That would make me happy as well TT, would that change support costs? I can check on my coculator when I get home, but you may have it handy?

I would like to see the 20mm close range increased to 30 or 36 though to give it some advantage over the 50 cal.

Re: AFV machine gun

I agree TT I will usually take an extra squad over an MMG but if using my Armored Rifles I will usually take the HMG and deploy it with the MG section, Mortar and an SL to give me a very solid fire base. In game the HMG however easily out shoots a belt feed 20mm cannon (except against light armour) ...

Re: AFV machine gun

What about if the MMG or HMG is the main armament? In some cases an HMG is the main weapon with a coaxial MG. If we are suggesting changing things the perhaps a turret mounted main weapon HMG or MMG should be 8d6, mind you I would like to see all HMG's dropped to 8d6 anyway as they are to good in my...

Re: Off Table Machine Guns

TT, I think you will find the effective range on an MG34 and a M2 mortar are very similar. The big difference is one needs LOS the other doesn't. On the other hand the British certainly practiced indirect drills with their MMG's I am not sure if other countries did though.

Re: Medium Mortar Batteries

You can model them as a team if you want or just have a single model, regardless however each time the observer is hit you role a dice: A Forward Observer who has been hit will roll  1D6.  On a roll of 1 to 3 he has been killed.  On a  roll of 4 to 6 he is wounded and my continue to  do his job, but...

Re: Off Table Machine Guns

Similar question re pre-game barrage. Does an off table machine gun have to roll when it is first activated to shoot? It's not deploying on the table so RAW no. But it's a later addition and presumably not that far away so should still be affected by the barrage? Yes it's a later addition to the ru...

Re: Tachanka?

I would be happy to leave it as is with ROF. Its unlikely to get many turns of firing once it is exposed, just think of the extra dice as the surprise it caused.
The 5-6 damage on the two net hits represents the horses panicking and running through nearby infantry etc.

Re: Tachanka?

TT, don't the rules as is cover them sufficiently? Soft skin transport Vehicle or soft skin fighting vehicle. Either mounted with a Vehicle MG. Being wheeled it can move the turn it comes on but any more than 1d6 is going to limit its shooting. I still have one from Eureka to put together. Cheers Neil

Re: Lists for North Africa?

I have done my own US list for Africa and only allow a bazooka as a support choice. I have also made it 'Green' to reflect the very poor training the crews had.
There are a few support choices in that US list that should be Italy only.
