Re: Another Period To Play

$100 for 24 assembled, painted sailing ships? You're going to be arrested on highway robbery charges if you're not careful! The cheapest painting service I've ever seen that would do 1/1200 sailing ships wanted $55 each, not counting the cost of the miniature. If you wanted it fully rigged, no...

Re: Review of KMH

They were the very first set of TFL rules I ever bought, back in about 2002 or so. I didn't really go for them at first, because I thought that to be a good naval game, you had to have things like protractors and millimeter rulers. Full disclosure here: I played Heart of Oak from the early 1980s unt...

Re: So Far From God variant. Anyone tried it?

I've been waiting on that one myself. In fact, the announcement of that set was the reason I bought all the figures! From talking to Patrick Wilson periodically though, it slipped back behind some projects that were a bit more immediately profitable. So maybe next year.

Re: So Far From God variant. Anyone tried it?

OK, thanks. That is good to hear. The MAW is different enough from everything around it that it really needs it own set of rules, not an ACW set that has been modified. I keep thinking I will do a modification/conversion of TCHAE or LFS for bigger battles, but that project just keeps moving farther ...

Re: Upcoming Lard in Texas, October-November

Alrighty then, count me in for Friday night. I'll officially register when they let us. As a TFL vet, I might not sit through the whole game; just enough to get the basics and then will let someone else in.

Re: Upcoming Lard in Texas, October-November

I would LOVE that as I just got the rules a couple of days ago. However, all my stuff is 15mm, no 28s anywhere to be seen.

So Far From God variant. Anyone tried it?

Subject line says it all really. I have a large number of Mex-Am figures that have never been painted up because I've never found a rules set that gets the right feel for the period. If anyone has tried the SFFG variant, I'd like to hear what your opinion of it is. I'll be doing it (if I do) in 15mm...

Upcoming Lard in Texas, October-November

We have a pretty decent schedule of games coming up at conventions here for the next couple of months. In October, Chris Trevino will be running an IABSM game at our local convention on board the battleship Texas near Houston. That will be on the 5th of October. Normally I would run one there also, ...

Oh that's fine, EG. I'm perfectly happy with the one I have; I just had to remember to port it over from another forum I inhabit.

"Very little I do is entirely sensible, but has a sort of twisted logic behind it."
I think I hear an e-mail signature line in that quote....
