This is a picture of a Frontier Scout in 1946 (the main difference to the 1930's being that they then wore khaki coloured shorts & turbans). The red flags featured on the JOP's are those the Waziristan resistance movement used against the British in the 1930's, being a red flag with the Takbir (i.e., Allahu Akbar = "God is the greatest") written on it.
