Re: Panzer Grenadier Tactics 1944

I think that there should still be some allowance for mounted passengers to fire on the (at half effect probably) as I suggested above to reflect the German tactics. Adding that certainly wouldn't be a significant change to the rules and might even be implicitly allowed already. Allowing Panzergrena...

Re: Close Combat 4 x dice to enemy player

To summarize, my interpretation is that a "rout" is an action to move precipitously away from the enemy, e.g. the 6+2d6 when outnumbered 4-1 for dice in close combat or when a unit initially breaks, or leaving the table when a unit is broken and a turn end occurs. Broken is a troop state like pinned...

Re: Mg on halftrack

If you look at the entry on the arsenal table it says "Top mounted MMG or HMG". The MG on top of a Hanomag isn't an MMG, so it's no totally clear how many dice Rich intended it to have. Some people go for 6 like other vehicle MGs, others go for 8 like the same gun when it's dismounted. 10 doesn't s...

Re: Close Combat 4 x dice to enemy player

Looking through the rules for all the uses of "rout", it seems clear that "rout" is separate from broken. Broken troops that will rout at turn end are just one case where a rout can occur. Others are from close combat as discussed from previous posts and also vehicle crew if the vehicle accumalates ...

Panzer Grenadier Tactics 1944

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsTudthlCik is an interesting video on youtube discussing the German 1944 Panzergrenadier manual. Acording to the manual, the primary combat mode for Panzergrenadiers in halftracks (gepanzert) is mounted with dismounted combat secondary. Given this, it may be time to ...

Re: Armoured vehicle forced off table

If I were allowing the vehicle to redeploy after being forced off the table, I would at least apply a restriction that it must choose the new place on the table edge where it re-enter to be within 6" (maybe 12"?) of the point where it exited. This would at least prevent the owner from teleporting it...

Re: Armoured vehicle forced off table

As per section 12 of the FAQ, “Q: If a vehicle retires off the table due to being obliged to reverse off the table edge, is it removed from the game completely. A: Yes, it is. As with any unit leaving the table.” You may want to think about deploying your vehicles sideways, so they “back up” up or ...

Re: Tanks destroying buildings....

Given the 7 HE dice the Tiger gets, it might just want to shell the building until it collapses or the occupants are dead ;-). Not as effective as the SP 150mm sIG, but still quite respectable.

Re: Flammpanzer 251/16 potency?

It appears that the front mounted lmg was standard so probably should be included on the model. With a JL, you might well be able to fire the LMG and one flamethrower although I'd probably limit that combination to when the flamethrower is firing in the rear quadrant of its arc. I suspect list 6 is ...

Re: "Platoon Forward" & "At The Sharp End"

Platoon Forward is listed onthe TFL site under Troops, Weapons, and Tactics (the older TFL platoon campaign system). Not sure if it would be redundant or provide additional rules to supplement ATSE (the CoC campaign rules). ATSE already includes rules for generating personalities for leaders, names,...
