Re: Suitability for SCW?

There's also an SCW supplement for IABSM in the 2004 summer special, called Up Your Cara El Sol. It was written for the previous version of IABSM, but converting between versions is simple.

Re: Renaissance Italian Wars & SP2...

Hi, That would almost certainly be the fantastic game put on by the Harrogate club, which they have taken to a number of venues and I finally got to play in last October at E'bor Lard. As far as I know they haven't posted their rule amendments anywhere, but I know John, at least, hangs out here some...

Re: Ongoing Rule Clarification Thread

Hi, I think you are over-thinking it a little. Remember, deployment isn't activation - the rules are similar in many ways, but they aren't the same, don't carry over or act in either case as examples of how to do the other. So, when deploying a scout team a CD of '1' is used, as per 4.5.1 (if it hel...

Re: Uncontrolled units

To answer your last question first, no it does cost an initiative for the test, other than the one required to activate the unit in the first place. As to the rest, you've got that all correct but I would add a couple of clarifications. Firstly, if you don't activate them, then they are worse than n...

Re: CONCERNS WITH SINGLE-TEAM SQUADS

Couldn’t disagree more :D It appears completely consistent and unambiguous. A team is a unit. A section is a unit. Therefore the rule would apply to both teams AND sections, whichever is relevant. If you are activating the UNIT as a team, treat it as a team. If you are activating the UNIT as a sect...

Re: CONCERNS WITH SINGLE-TEAM SQUADS

I have always played it if I have 2 teams say one with 2 shock and the other with 4 shock and I move section as a whole say 8". Team 1 moves 6" and team 2 moves 4". I may have this wrong of course Yup, that is exactly what the 14.3 says to do. It also makes clear that you have the option of declari...

Re: CONCERNS WITH SINGLE-TEAM SQUADS

Exactly what Archdukek said - I just meant that you never aggregate shock in multi-team sections for movement, hence my final question about Len's suggestion since as written it would mean the same applied to single team squads, increasing their mobility. Sorry if I wasn't clear, I was in a bit of a...
