Re: Getting Reinforcements Is it Impossible

Quite the opposite in fact. Some of our players were/are getting so many reinforcements that I had to modify the standard .pdf sheets with more room for troops for both sides but especially the Saxons. Of course we're running a multiplayer campaign with some 16 players, but we didn't change the vict...

Re: Belgian Infantry and Chasseurs Ardennais lists for 1940

They fought very well but they suffered a bad reputation in the UK press at the time because they surrendered leaving the Allies exposed, although frankly I suspect this was as much them being scapegoated for the debacle as anything. I'd like to see them on the games table - I have a soft spot for ...

Re: Figurines available for scots-irish

I've got Gripping Beast Pict's - fantastic looking figures so I'm sure their Irish would be just as good. Their Irish are even better than the Picts. No cavalry though so I used the two Irish warlords and the (somewhat later) Fianna from the SAGA packs. The Black Tree Pictish cavalry is a perfect m...

Re: Mucking around with Roman Dux

Interesting ideas. I did buy that 4ground Roman Limes Fort... I'd like to see Dux Brit expanded to cover Eastern subjects since I mostly have Dacians, Sarmatians & German tribes like the Suebi. There was an article in one of the TFL Specials about migrating Dux to the continent. As soon as our curr...

Re: Figurines available for scots-irish

The Gripping Beast Irish are perfect as Raiders. http://www.grippingbeast.com/shop.php?CatID=12 However a large group of Irish had settled in Western Wales a century earlier and they would be surely have been assimilated. So perhaps a mix of Romano British and Irish/Welsh? Some of the (later) Crusad...
