Early war reading

Fairly self explanatory really, I would like to research early WWII a bit, particuarly the invasion of France/belgium etc with a view to gaming in a Coc and then IABSM style.
So can anyone recomend any good reads to get me started..

It's all a matter of size

Having got into the lard with Quadrant 13 and then Coc I've found myself branching out from my traditional 28mm into other scales, 15mm for Q13 and 20mm for some moderns/insurgents stuff, as well as my very old 6mm sci fi. I have found I can knock out a squad or two of alright looking 15 or 20mm fig...

That seems fairly sensible, I'm going with the US forces, to be honest I'm just using the models to do a VSF game, probably based on mars, and using some of the Black Hat martian empire british minis as my infantry.
I am hoping Robert Avery takes the hard work out of the tripod list though...
