Re: CoCulating vehicle costs for LRDG

I made a similar list for US Cavalry Recon which had a few armed jeeps. In the thread, Rich went over how to cost it up. http://toofatlardies.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=471 It will be a start at least. The question is whether or not the LRDG squads can fight dismounted. If so, cost of the dism...

Re: US paratrooper/Armored Rifle Platoon Question

I'm pretty sure the US armored divisions didn't have any BARs. Each US armored infantry platoon had plenty of machine guns though; seven total of which two were .50 cal.

Re: No Longer Pinned

We made the mistake of clearing Pinned status as soon as the number of Shock dropped. The end result was that pinning was pretty meaningless. Making it stick around longer will make it possible to pin a unit and then advance around or past it.

Re: Tank Riders

But infantry can normally deploy from jump off points which should be much further onto the table than the table edge where the tanks come it. It would be a rare situation where deploying with a slow moving tank (and then only moving forward on a 3) would actually make sense. Especially since tank r...

Re: Resupplying from a jump off point.

Since the jump off points are areas where troops can get to and from quickly, the failed rolls could just be waiting around for a runner to return with the ammo. If jump off points were supposed to be giant piles of ammo then you shouldn't be able to move them.

Re: 28mm and 1:72

The first time I ever saw a miniatures game (at a convention in the early 80s), it was a Napoleonics game where the figures were taller than the buildings. So I'm comfortable with the terrain scale and model scale not matching exactly.

Re: a few (a lot) of questions

The term Section in another name for squads, not teams. That confused me at first (being American). In general, when activating leaders and spending Command Initiative, it's best to spend the points one at a time rather than try to do multiple things at the same time. 12-Most transports don't have c...

Re: Big CoC Action!

I was thinking that they took up a platoon "slot" but didn't actually get any command dice.

But that doesn't make much sense. I guess someone will have to write up a super-high Force Rating armored platoon list.

Re: Big CoC Action!

How would you handle armored infantry in these rules? Would their halftracks be considered a separate platoon?
