Re: Deploy and Activate?

With random movement distances, it's entirely possible/plausible that a player can find his unit not having enough movement to get within 4" of the JoP and close it down. Does he now not move the unit (gamey in the extreme) or move it and potentially have something deploy behind him (Gamey in the e...

Re: Lahti ATR

The data I can find shows a slight edge to the Boys but the Lahti penetration doesn't drop off as fast so it has an edge at longer ranges.

Re: Soviet tank questions

Soviet tanks used a version of the DP LMG but with a thicker drum magazine that held twice as many rounds. Still, I don't think any vehicle mounted MG counts as belt fed. http://panzerfaust.ca/AFV%20interiors/t34b_files/t34_9.jpg The following Soviet tanks did not have radios: BA-10, BA-20, BA-6, BA...

Re: Jeeps with integral weapons?

One of my regular players always picks jeeps even in computer games like Combat Mission. And his jeeps always ends up leading his attacks. I'm starting to feel guilty about killing the damn things. Anyway, I've been reading old US Field Manuals. I love those 40's era cartoons. No nekid lady in the b...

Re: Support List Question

My interpretation for the Americans was that I needed 8 support points for a halftrack with a 50cal, 3 for the halftrack and 5 for the 50cal and crew. As the 50cal has a crew of 5, one of them could drive the halftrack. For eight points you could also get a Sherman 105. Putting a MG team in a halft...

Is there a table to convert penetration and armor thickness from mm to CoC factors?

Re: Jeeps with integral weapons?

I've been looking at the US Cavalry Recon Troop which has six jeeps, three of which armed with .30 LMGs. There are two ways of handling it; as a rifle team in an armed jeep or a MG team in an unarmed jeep. Which way is more correct depends entirely on whether or not the MG could be dismounted. I hav...

Re: Soviet 1939-1940 lists up

I would add "Entrenchments for one Squad" on List Two based on the recent updates in the FAQ thread. Works out the same but would be easier for newbies.

Re: Support List Question

A US Armored Infantry Platoon was issued seven MGs, one on each of their five half-tracks (two of which were .50s) plus two carried by the LMG squad. Each of the vehicle mounted MGs had a tripod stored on the half-track and could be dismounted. [T/O&E 7-27 and FM 17-71]. FM 17-40 (Armored Infantry C...
