Re: Rich’s New game video and big question

Actually, the more I think about the Risk v Reward element of this particular rule the more I like it. In fact, given that the way to get yourself noticed as a future somebody, in both the Roman army and Tribal culture, was to "Put yerself about a bit!" as it used to be known, I'm going to extend th...

Ah! Mister Quackstheking, we've been expecting you. 😂 Monster supposition there Don. You either have to know of, or expect further, characteristics in the first place. Re: Rich’s New game video and big question

Oh for Gods Sake! One paragraph tucked in a corner of Page 72! Must have read it at some point but to be honest I’ve been concentrating on the game play chapters to, you know, play games! 😀 Result of that is detailed reading has tended to stop around Page 70. Never mind, thanks for your direction as...

Rich’s New game video and big question

Just been watching Rich’s new Romans v Brits video In his step by step guides, which is good. Well apart from some camera positions that cut off part and sometimes all of the subject area, very un Lard like! However when Rich got into the main punch up he was giving the Level Three Leaders on both s...

Re: Emporer portraits

Not to mention that one of those portrayed is a woman! Could not believe it! I had never heard of Ulipia Severina until I saw her picture! OK may have only been for a few months but plenty of dead beats and wannabes tried it on. Got elected and had coins struck - Empress of Rome as far as I’m concer...

What's in the standard cost of a Group?

It's dawned on me that I may not be counting Unit costs in the same way as others so I thought I might check. The matter is really around Characteristics. So for example, where Britons a concerned. Nobles and Warriors have Chariots as a Characteristic and are charged at 19 and 14 points respectively...

Re: Game Size Survey

Interesting stuff! We did kind of start of with the Core Forces but where the Romans are concerned I find them peculiar in some ways too. I partly because I think they may fall foul of something I've noticed in other rules using points based lists. That's the difficulty of getting a balanced force t...

Game Size Survey

OK just a quick question. What size games are you all playing? We opted to stick with our Chain of Command size 6ft x 6ft table and 28mm figures (not the same ones, obviously) as we like that little extra playing area. Force wise, apart from the first few games, we are hovering around the 145 - 150 ...
