Dawns & Departures Rear Guard Supply Query

What is the correct amount of supply for the leading player?

It says 12 sacks of supplies for the main body and a further 12 sacks for the besieged force, but this is the same as for the raise the siege mission and of course there is no siege!

Thanks

Withdrawal off the table

I cant find this in the rules, if you are forced to fall back (not rout) and leave the table, do yo ujust test for the withdrawal or does the unit count as wiped out?

Thanks

Pikes and spears

Any thoughts on rules for units with pikes or spears? I am particularly thinking peasant with spears, or Russian napoleonic militia.

Anyone come up with anything and tried it out?

Re: rules for night game

At the risk of being controversial the Flames of War night fighting rules are quite good. Units that have fired can be seen at any distance. Otherwise visibility is 1D6X4, rolled each turn for each unit, who may then target what they can see. Use as is, or adjust the multiplier to a suitable distanc...

Firing near friends

Is there any restriction on firing at units that are near friends? I seem to remember something about not if units within 4" of friends but now can't find that.

Directed fire

I know this has been discussed before but can't seem to find the answer to my question. The rules as written say the leader spends 1CI to direct fire and add his CI in dice to the firing. Does this mean that the group only fires and gets no other actions? This seems to be the implication but seems l...

Results table - elite and levy loses

Been playing our first few games of a proper campaign. So far we have been counted losses of elites and levy when calculating the level is victory but reading the table in our last game the modifier for levy is for a British king and elites for a British comes or Saxon king. Should we only count the...

Re: Mortars & Smoke

We use a house rule for the 2" that when it fires smoke it fills an additional 2 dice in a different colour and if they come up double 1 it's out of smoke ammo in the same way the us 60mm would run out of he. Seems fair to us that it's unlikely it doesn't haave infinite ammo.
