Re: Sharp Practice - Darkest Africa!

Thanks Gents,

Hope there are some useful suggestions to kick around in this post and the next...

The Masai I hope will show that a relatively 'simple' army can still be interesting in SP if used in its historical context....

Cheers

Sharp Practice - Darkest Africa!...the Masai!

Gents, Sharp Practice stops at 1865 …but it can go further! I’ve been using a few rules sets for Darkest Africa gaming and Sharp Practice was one eagerly anticipated for adaptation to this genre. I’ve gathered some thoughts on this and popped up the first of a few posts on the subject of adapting Sh...

Re: Point value of breech loading rifles?

I think the pts cost is a good deal more. If you look at the Sharpulator for a Dragoon Group with Carbine there are three types - smoothbore, rifled and breech loading. The difference is smoothbore 7pts, rifled 9 pts and breech loading 14 pts. That gives a spread increase of 7 pts from the smoothbor...

Re: Good Shots/Poor Shots...what is the correct modifier?

Whilst I understand what your thinking I'm not so sure the "Characteristics such as Sharp Practice and Crashing volley" covers it. These two bonuses boost fire capability...so what off firers that are utterly useless...including ones that cannot form up to fire volleys as well? There's no reverse Sh...

Good Shots/Poor Shots...what is the correct modifier?

Question for Rich ( and all) The Firing Dice Variables table on p45 talks about poor. Shots, good shots, etc. it say that there is +1D6 per Group. I take this to mean that is adding an extra d6 to a group when it fires is 12 poor shooters would fire 11 dice not 12.... However, the example opposite s...

Great work on the play sheet.

Any chance the .pub format can be converted or saved into a Adobe Indesign format for Mac for editing?

Kind regards

Re: The Abyssinian Crisis - project blog

Gents, The TFL WW1 Chain of Command supplement quite naturally provided some of the inspiration for aspects of Chain of Command:Abyssinia. In this post we provide the six scenarios from that supplement that form the basis for some of the attack/defence scenarios in the The Abyssinian Crisis theme th...
