Re: Spanish Civil War
Nice AAR Francisco, You no doubt have realised just how difficult it is to attack into the teeth of enemy fire with poor quality troops. We found the same considerations were needed even with high good quality Legionaries vs Militia. A different approach certainly applies. How did you think the mods...

Re: Spanish Civil War lists-Army of Africa and People's Mili
Hi gents, Francisco: thanks for those kind words. When back home in a few weeks I hope to make a start on a few more lists as time allows. Jack: well spotted. I have in fact made a few notes one of which is that the Elite Asalto troops (which are an option) are in fact List Five choices. The same ap...

Re: Spanish Civil War lists-Army of Africa and People's Mili
Hi Rich. I don't have drill manuals, but solid references nevertheless I think, across a number of sources...not to mention a good community. Benito and I have touched on this subject before and I think he will be able to bring a good deal to the table with his '37 drill manual. Benito, if you have ...

Re: Spanish Civil War lists-Army of Africa and People's Mili
Thanks Gents. Nosher, the People's Militia would do for some early war International Brigade units using the Hardened Militia rule. I do Intend to do a more specific International Bde list but jus wanted to focus on these two lists for the moment whilst absorbing all the new CoC concepts and how the...

Spanish Civil War lists-Army of Africa and People's Militia
Gents, I've placed my advanced 'beta' Spanish Civil War lists in the files section of the TooFatLardies egroup for your use and comment. http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Toofatlardies/files/Chain%20of%20Command These lists are used for the Army of Africa forces in 1936, early 1937. The People's Mi...

Re: Night Rules
..The cute thing with all of the above is that it makes a night action quite doable by leaning on the strength of the game as is and really not having to create a bunch of often difficult to implement special rules. ..working in a twist on the Patrol Phase might also create more fog of war.....I can...

Re: Night Rules
...nice ideas John.
Maybe after all command dice are allocated roll each one as you attempt to use them, needing a 3+ to activate, otherwise it is discarded (representing the general difficulty of command, control and coordination at night).

Re: Cavalry - fighting mounted and charging!
Hi Truscott, I thought maybe some cavalry rule from the design crew might find its way onto this thread. ;) I haven't looked closely at cavalry just yet. I like the idea of a pre game advantage though. Perhaps for each (dismounted) cavalry squad you have you can gain one free Patrol phase move with ...

Re: Cavalry - fighting mounted and charging!
Saladin, In my SCW Army of Africa list I have added a cavalry scout squad as an option. You can also run a complete mounted platoon as well. There were many occasions for the use of cavalry and plenty of it....low level actions with cavalry are a definite inclusion and something that I think needs t...
