Re: Green Troops and 4 Command Dice - A quick and easy solution to balance 6's rolled with 4, 5 or 6 command dice.

Where experienced men are leading freshly trained men, then sure, five dice works for me. ... but, what about untrained troops, resistance, partisans et al? Not your run of the mill troops and scenario specific mostly, but nevertheless their discipline and command structure, or lack of, would warran...

Re: Deploying squad with Jr. Ldr

The 3 gives the option of doing the same as what the squad would do on a 2, or the NCO can use his CI remove shock, but not both. When you consider that a SL only has one more pip and can only activate a squad to shoot and have two CI left if he does, it makes the idea of a JL activating his men to ...

Not even 'relatively'. The errata for 'Blitz 1940' followed in days of the hard copy release. I don't think it's hard to imagine that there are far more people who buy the rules and just play the game, than there are people who do that and also join the FB Group. Certainly far more than those who jo...

Re: Including teams as targets.

Okay, not as simple as I might have implied perhaps, but as opposed to the 'taking the little extra time', Infantry Section Leading (1938) encourages brevity and speed of orders. Sort of the opposite side of the same coin. Granted it then goes on to instruct in methods of distance assessment, the 'F...

Re: Dead?

I agree about including dead from attached squads, too. People have a tendency to be a bit "adventurous" with the rent-a-squad otherwise. As they were probably guys from the same company, or at worst, same battalion, I would agree. Even so, that 'the men' can see that their leader is pretty blasé a...

Re: Including teams as targets.

How it is done now or in recent memory is not how it was done in WWII, especially given the truncated training periods introduced shortly after it started.

CLAP was something you caught and GRIT was what got in your boot. ;)

Re: Including teams as targets.

In an ideal world fire is controlled, but individual preservation overrides that. My section leader may be about to order concentrated fire on a target of his choosing, but if Herman the German comes stumbling out of the bushes quite close enough to be a real threat to me... Anyhow I believe the int...

How many folk out there do you think are either oblivious to the FAQ, or are ignoring its existence?

That was rhetorical btw. 8-)
