Re: SP Question: Minimum size of group

I use groups of 4 for large units of irregular Indian cavalry or infantry levies in my Indian Mutiny games. 6 groups of 4, with only a few low status Big Men to lead them, are almost impossible to keep in any formation, very brittle in combat and tend to run away quite quickly - which seems to model...

Re: So Far From God variant. Anyone tried it?

Hi Brian That sounds familiar. I bought a load of 18mm Eureka figures for the MAW. I experimented with the F&F variant rules for MAW, which were OK but I didn't feel they really captured the character of the period somehow - it just felt like an ACW game with prettier uniforms. I then bought SFFG, t...

Re: Terrible Sharp Sword - Do those fit in here?

I agree, let's keep it simple at this stage - and anyone with an interest in SP should, if they are anything like me, be interested in anything relating to the supplements/adaptations/off-shoots to the core rules.

Re: User Profile Request

Adding a general location is really helpful for those of us looking for fellow Lardies.

Maybe there's also some way we could also add an abbreviated list of particular rules played somewhere on the profile?

SP Indian Mutiny 1857-58 Supplement

In case you've missed the earlier yahoo-group posts, there's a group of us playtesting Rolf Gein's excellent draft of a set of SP rules for the Indian Mutiny period. There's a set of the rules available to download at the "War Without Mercy" yahoo-group, but please do so with the intention of helpin...

Re: maximillian war

Just spotted there was a series of articles in WI 136-139 (1999) which are also available on the 'Mexican Adventure' site.

Don't know how good they are, written by some guy called Richard Clarke - wonder what happened to him? ;-)

Re: A Hundred years before

Just like you, I want to work on adapting the original rules, plus "Silver Whistle"'s WOTR amendments, to put together something suitable for Border Reiver games set in the late 1500's (mainly inspired by TAG's new Tudor range). But first, there's an Indian Mutiny supplement to get completed, and th...

Re: maximillian war

Another one who's been tempted by the Maximilian War as a SP project, and readily adapted as well! There's not a lot of easily available wargaming-specific printed material I think (though surely MW, WI etc must have covered it at some time?). Best source online by far is the 'Mexican Adventure' sit...
