Re: Advice On Custom Game Tokens - What do I need?

If you number around the edges of the marker using it like a dial you could number one side 1 to 5 or 6 and the flip side 6 or 7 to 10 or 12.

It would save on the number of markers you would need.

Re: Forward Observers questions

FO's typically use concealed positions with a good field of observation, much like a sniper. I've hunted both and even at well under 100 yards they can be hard to spot if they know their business. There are even well documented accounts of hostile riflemen being within much shorter distances of frie...

Re: Forward Observers questions

Why not treat spotting an FO the same as spotting a sniper? The FO is not revealing his position by firing personally but if someone is receiving incoming HE fire it is probable that the fire is being called. Where from is the problem the target needs to deal with. The only difference between spotti...

Re: 3 turns in a row - Newbie thoughts.

Sorry if my point is unclear. Have to look in while working so limited time to comment. Lard rules so beautifully constructed that they all interact in subtle ways. Giving elites 6 action dice gives them a better chance to perform ALL actions including keeping the initiative. This makes them too pow...

Re: 3 turns in a row - Newbie thoughts.

Clarification: only when 1 x 6 is in the 5 dice rolled does it convert for elites.

In other words the result might be 1, 2, 3, 4, & 6. The 6 can convert to a 5 and add 1 Command Die pip. Any 5 result 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 can also result in +2 Command Dice pips.

Two or more 6 results cannot convert at all.

Re: 3 turns in a row - Newbie thoughts.

"All 6's" do not become 5's. Only a single D6 result out of the 5 converts for elites only.

Gives elites an edge without making them supermen. We never had a difficulty with it but then dice being dice...

Re: 3 turns in a row - Newbie thoughts.

Replace dice that roll too well or badly? Knew a guy who would line up his dice to "watch" while he took a hammer to "offending" dice! He did this with some humor so might not have been completely crazy. We really dislike giving "Elites" 6 dice except in special cases such as a turn or two when they...

Re: Alternative to blinds?

If you find blinds distracting you could use clear acetate blinds with a (small?) national or unit symbol and a number marked on it. If you outline the clear edges of an oval blind in red or blue with a small same color number on it the unit position will appear much as it might be displayed on a map.
