Re: 2nd game in the 7YW Sugar Islands campaign

I would say a marginal French victory since their regulars are just about wiped out delaying the Crown advance. We still need to play out if Hopson falls for the dirty French trick of claiming that Port Royale is pox filled. If this does work I have a bit of an adventure game planned with the Naval ...

In this scenario, representing the British attempting to advance on Port Royal, Martinique, the Grenadiers, Highlanders and 63rd Foot come under attack from French militia and marines. This is loosely based on the booklet by Stuart Insch I just could not ge...

DDay Game 6mm IABSM

I just got back from France and Normandy so I was in the mood for a DDay game. I also wanted something basic and that would allow for both sides to do some maneuvering, so a straight out assault on dug in stationery troops was out. I came up with the move in from Asnelles by the B Company 2 Devons a...

Re: Sugar islands SP at GigaHistorical May Day

We played it again Saturday, since I still had everything ready rom Game Day. This time the Crown wore the French defenders down despite the brave Madame standing on the barricades to encourage her compatriots.
Flickr is being a pain so no piccies yet.

Madame Ducharmey's Plantation 1759 Sugar Islands SP2 game

This was the SP2 game I ran at our GigaHistorical May Day event. It was based on the battle on the island of Guadaloupe in the 1759 campaign between the British and French in the Sugar Islands. I used Stuart Insch's wargaming guide as inspiration. It was designed to be a 6 player game of Sharp Pract...

Re: Sugar islands SP at GigaHistorical May Day

It's amazing how many gamers under two hours away that have seen notices, are available and still can't budge off their butts. And then wonder why there is no war game convention in Atlanta.

Re: Sugar islands SP at GigaHistorical May Day

It really is a great gaming event. Loads of great looking games, food and beverage on site and raffles throughout the day. And the best beer and cider assortment to be found at any game day. And admission is free.
Can't imagine why anyone who can come would pass on this.
