CDS Questions

Posting here in more hope than expectation given this forum seems dead. Tried posting to the Yahoo group but I can't see it despite it saying it had posted...? Last night we played our first Charlie Don’t Surf having played a bit of IABSM v3 and I was struck by some of the differences. (Some of thos...

Re: Covering Fire and Terrain

Agreed. I'd actually suggest that covering fire is a higher volume of fire overall than actually shooting and is definitely over a longer period.

Re: 20mm basing help

I tend to stick my 20mm figs to a penny with superglue, paint the figure, then liberally paint PVA on the coin to the height of the base, place coin in a tub of sand then sprinkle sand onto paint. Leave for a couple of minutes and then pick out, and leave to dry. Occasionally they need two coats of ...

Palm trees for sale

I have around 140 palm trees for sale. Suit 6/10/15mm ideally but I use them mixed in with others for 28mm without them looking too out of place. They're not exactly this type, but extremely close. If I can I will link to some images of them in use in my games, unfortunately it seems my website is d...

FNG and some questions

Having played a fair bit of Vietnam in 28mm at a skirmish level I've finally got enough troops to do some 15mm CDS. I'm looking through to rules in preparation for a introductory game and have some questions. 1) Since I don't have any civilians or buildings in scale yet I'm thinking of running a sma...

Re: Dead?

Ok. I see how you're doing it. I'm not sure I agree tho. 6 casualties = 3 "dead" on the table. We can all agree on that as does 3 casualties = 1 "dead" for the platoon. Ok. But then that means 3 casualties = 2 "dead" for the support section. I don't think you should be looking at the table more than...

Re: Dead?

Sorry. I didn't phrase that question properly. Let's say you lose 8 men total during the game per the OP. In this example 3 of the men came from a support section and 5 men from the platoon. Now technically 2 men return because of the FM difference. Which 2? And after that, with 6 casualties 3 are p...

Re: Including teams as targets.

If you can draw valid LoS to such a big area then I feel you need more terrain.
