Re: A long dark tea-time for this forum?

Funnily enough I was just talking to Richard, and he mentioned that he was looking forward to getting back onto this forum now that he had finished the Special and all the other things he has had to work on over the last month or so. I reckon he'll be posting again before the week is out.

Re: Overwatch, Blinds and Hidden units.

Hi Desmondo I read the overwatch rules under section 1.2.3 as clearly, if not explicitly, stating that the overwatch ends at the end of the turn: "for use later in the turn" "at any subsequent point in the turn" "remainder of the turn" Nothing there about carrying them over, a strong implication tha...

Re: H.q

Hi Ross

I would play it that the Axis Co HQ card activates the Tank Killers and the Panzerschreck team, but not the Big Man - he only activates on his own card.

The Tank Killers also get their bonus card.

Cheers

Re: A long dark tea-time for this forum?

I think the two can exist side by side, although I prefer this format. Content-wise, the Yahoo Group seems to me to be a very social place where lots of non-wargaming topics are discussed; whereas here it's all about the games and the rules queries etc. As for m1kel's comment, I check this forum 3-5...

Re: First ever game questions

That's not what happened when one of my Big Men broke from cover during the Crete day...and guess who was umpiring! I think I would agree that Big Men & FOs cannot be specifically targeted in a rules lawyer-ly kind of way, but I think I'd use my method if a Big Man was standing on his own out in the...

Re: First ever game questions

I have a slightly different interpretation of these... 1) the LMG squads should be treated like mini squads ie they move on the platoon card and fire with 2d6. The five men in the team make them very hard to get rid of! 2) now n/a 3) actually yes he can. Fire at him, calculate casualties, calculate ...

Re: Help with some questions please

1) Roll the dice as if both were out in the open and add 2 for having more than one target. Look at the fire table. Let's say it was an effective range shot, and you rolled a natural 10, upweighted to a 12 because of extra target unit. That would give you 5P for an great shot, and 1 for a poor shot....

Re: Support weapons in squads

Hi Jay I do this in two different ways. Sometimes I make the ML a company or platoon asset, and then attach it to the squad so it activates under their card. So a standard squad of 8 men would become an enhanced squad of 10 men. The squad has it's usual number of Actions (here for 8 men). The ML tea...

Re: Rules query regarding cover

I would roll the three dice, compare the numbers, and go somewhere in the middle. Or use an Okay shot. So, for example, if you rolled a total of 12 at 9-18", you get: Good: 5P Okay: 3P Poor: 1 So I would probably go for 3P as being in the middle of the two and an Okay shot. I'd further justify the P...
