Re: Coastal Patrol great for solo or remote gaming

This is a fun game that seems quite a bit more realistic than Cruel Seas because of the blind system. Mark That's been my impression from talking to people who have played both - in fact, I don't know anyone who has looked at CS since it came out and gone with that rather than sticking with CP, as ...

Re: Coastal Patrol great for solo or remote gaming

Any chance of a video walking us through the rules? Having only played Chain of Command and Sharp Practice, I'm struggling to get my head around the CP set; I've just acquired a very cheap starter box for Cruel Seas and want to use the 1:300 MTBs/E-Boats for a simple CP game, just to get the hang of...

Doug and I know someone (Buff O) who also weighted down the bonnet region to give the vehicle more stability and stop it being jogged about on the table.

I think Big R said on the live You Tube programme that if we're still in lockdown in June, he will consider "publishing and be damned".

Re: French Flamethrowers in WW2

Perhaps someone knows a little about the Italian campaign in North Africa vs the Brits? Would be interesting to know if the Brits captured any. There is one in the Tank Museum, at Bovington; it's an L3/33, specifically an L3 Lf (lancia flamme), which was based on the Carden-Lloyd carrier, built in ...

Re: Finest hour supplement

Only ever played this twice (first time was over a year ago) so apologies for missing any obvious point(s) in this. Wouldn't fuel capacity (and hence time over the target) dictate how long a fight went on for in real life? Perhaps set a fixed number of turns, at the end of which everyone breaks off ...

Re: Anyone working on 1939 Japanese?

Well I have gone for 4 sections of 13 and a 13 man GD section . Thus I reckon I can cover most bases. Mind you now I have to do an Engineer section with all the options.. This. Have you had any ideas on what to use? The size of the main platoon doesn't give you much change from two whole box...

Re: Leaders can run 'at the double' all the time?

On a serious note, I suspect that commanding a platoon and commanding an army, require very different skills and somebody who is good at one is not necessarily good at the other (if, indeed, at all). Both men were above average generals, so.....
