Re: Moving through wheat/cornfields

I dont know if Id call it open ground for moving, there are lilekly to be furrows and all sorts of stuff that will impede movement.

Re: Russian naval troops

I dont disagree, having palyed Green troops in the Bloody Bucket! What I found out quickly is that you don't want to put them anywhere near the fight. apart from an assualt where being dripping dripping in SMG's is handy and actually its the support options that do all the heavy lifting which is no ...

Re: Russian naval troops

Dont make then Green as per the rules unless you want them to be teally really bad.... I think possibly the better thing is to give them a similar Force Morale tracker to some Line of Communication troops from the Blitz book, remove a load of the National charecteristics, get them to deploy and roll...

Re: Question re Close Combat in woods.

As per the rules this represenst a whole range of violent activity taking place when the models are moved into base to base contact. As the d...

Re: Question re Close Combat in woods.

You might be right 'IRL' but im not so sure tbh, I'm fairly cerain an oak tree or big bramble bush blocks line of sight irrespective of who ever is attacking or defending? Possibbly it is easier, but its NOT a 'fire fight' remeber, it's an assualt, with the speed and momentum favouring the attackers...

Re: Question re Close Combat in woods.

But that terrain hiding the defender also obscures their view attacker, blocking the defenders line of sight, hampering action, restricting movement etc surely?

I think its fairly neat, if you are moving into the terrain to attack the defender gets the benifit, if you are allready in it they dont.

Re: Question re Close Combat in woods.

Interesting, we rule that if both sides start in the terrain for close combat it doesnt count. The thinking was that it's as much a help as a hinderence to both parties.
