If a unit takes any action in the charge phase it cannot then take any action in the move or firing phases, which includes recovering FD.

PL, Interesting as we had this discussion last night! As it stands all fire is taken at the 5cm point, so any defensive fire or supporting fire is conducted then. If they can hit fine but if out of arc, etc, then it's a no. However we were toying with not permitting any fire at all after a Charge On...

I could have worded that paragraph better.

The French batteries can be placed anywhere on the ridge and should postioned so they are in range of the Allied ridge - so do claim a few extra inches! ;)
