Re: Hells Bells Part II

The MG42 is a MMG or LMG. In either role, it doesn't reduce cover. Reducing only happens for HMGs like the .50 cal.

Re: Trial virtual game

Thank you, doob, for running this on the forum. While it might have slowed the game down, I found it interesting to follow.

If you do another game via Roll20, consider putting some screen shots with running commentary so that we can follow along.

Re: Trial virtual game

I could be wrong, but i think the extra casualty goes on the bar team. You have to fire on the entire squad because they are within four inches so i think the bar team is counted as a target.

Re: Trial virtual game

John, it looks like you are doing a go-for-broke move. Best of luck. It's pretty obvious that you need to do something with that LMG team in the road. Your other alternative would be to pull it back all the way to facing the northern US squad and use the wall as hard cover, but that could take a cou...

Re: Trial virtual game

I think I would have just let the Americans capture the JOP and use the COC die to avoid the "Bad Things Happen" roll. Moving the JOP works, but then you still have to guard it wherever it moves. Since all of the troops are deployed, they really don't have much of a purpose anymore, so losing one do...

Re: Trial virtual game

This game is really helping me understand the rules, so I am glad that Doob is running it. I can certainly see the other interpretation in which he just stays with the troops he is attached to. I found this: 7.1.1 LEADERS MOVING Leaders attached to a Section or Team may always move with that Unit at...

Re: Trial virtual game

I believe that Doob is correct. The middle LMG cannot go tactical that would be a second activation. I also believe that the SL does not move with the squad. He's already been activated. The last bullet under 4.5.3 says Once per Phase he may use one Command Initiative to move on his own if he has no...

Re: Trial virtual game

I hate to bring this up now, but I think that southern American JOP was not placed legally. JOPs need to be placed in cover or directly behind cover. Therefore, it should have been placed immediately behind the hedges or all the way back to where the southern American squad is. See 3.2 on page 13 Th...

Re: Trial virtual game

I think you have to get your central section back behind the stone wall in the centre and be quick about it. If you are able to do that, you can threaten to wipe out the BAR team in the road. If it moves behind the hedges, it's grenade time, so it's more likely to retreat out of sight. The reason yo...
