Re: DO WE HAVE A SMOKE PROBLEM?

TT, I do like your House Rule to reduce the effect of 2" mortars, and I did consider that option. But I do like the 2" smoke rule, it seems to reflect the unique nature of the 2" Mortar and how it was used. With regards to the perfect smoke screen you referred to …. it is VERY VERY easy. Like this: ...

Re: DO WE HAVE A SMOKE PROBLEM?

Thanks for such quick responses guys. Just so we are clear, the blocking of a LMGs Arc of Fire by Smoke seems reasonable as the rules are written and I do not have too much of a problem. But I do feel it might lead to some unintended consequences. Now maybe I am working under a false premise. BUT …....

DO WE HAVE A SMOKE PROBLEM?

I have recently come across an interesting use of Smoke during Close Combat. This is similar to some of the discussion on this topic here and on Facebook. This does NOT seem to be against the rules but it does pose some concerns. I would like to know what others think and if there is a solution need...

Re: Counting Leaders of Aggressive Troops

Interesting … a bit of both approaches it seems. I think the mechanic might be easier as you work through the checklist to do a simple "Head Count" when it comes to adding dice for aggressive troops. Otherwise you have to remember the original "Men count". Seret makes a good point about that the fir...

Counting Leaders of Aggressive Troops

A question on how people are counting the dice for "Aggressive Trrops" in Close Combat. On p59 of Close Combat it says that "each side will roll 1D6 for each man, not including Leaders". Later it says "Aggressive Troops add 1D6 for every three men" So when calculating the impact of "Aggressive Troop...

Re: Interrupt with a Senior Leader

MLB … that is a good way of looking at it. For interrupts that makes some sense … a knee jerk reaction to enemy activity. That sounds a good way to define an Interrupt I wish Rich had actually said that. His reasoning was that no grenades cos they are thrown by leaders and Interrupt are done by unit...

Re: Interrupt with a Senior Leader

What I find interesting about this "Ruling" is that I never thought that the Leaders actually threw the grenades. Yes they activated the action. But it was the guy at the pointy end who had to lob the thing out there. So I ask, from where are people measuring the range for throwing a grenade? Someti...

Re: Why is the Sherman List 8?

Thanks guys ,,, normal transmission restored. I am aware that it is a living document that it is not written in stone and normally that is fine. It is just that I could not understand when/why it changed. I love ALL the work that has gone into the Consolidated Arsenal …. a great community asset. Tha...

Re: Why is the Sherman List 8?

Thanks guys, The main thing that worries me is why it has changed from List 7 to List 8 As Seret pointed out, the Sherman Armour went up a "smidge" from 6 (in the Core rules) to 7 (a little while back).... this increased its List from 6 to 7. No problem. The calculation that Seret then showed us has...

Why is the Sherman List 8?

I have been cross checking some lists and noticed that the latest rating of the Sherman (All Variants) - for the British is List 8. I must say I am surprised. Originally it was List 6 in the Core Rules. Then it was lifted to List 7 (with some stat changes) …. now it's an 8. It is still the same 7 Ar...
