Re: Selecting British Airborne Section with 2 LMGs from Support list?

I think that particular support option in all lists is clearly intended to be a standard rifle squad for the platoon concerned and not one of the specialist squads you find in some platoons. If you wanted to allow the selection of the specialist squads as support then I'd suggest you need to price ...

Re: Pre Game Sequence

John, I hoped you would chip in with a few comments … so thanks. An interesting Sequence. Can you share the workings of your mind on this …. as long as it is not too scary that is. Of course the issue is where and when should Stukas should go as this needs to be bought with 4 x Support Points. Thank...

Pre Game Sequence

Hi all A little while back it was noted that there was some contradiction/confusion with the pre game sequence. Not only was it spread over a number of pages but on p73 it talks about the need to Select Support before doing the Patrol Phase. However on p74 - 79 it clearly has the Force Support being...

Re: Martlet / At Sharp End Query

EC - (Looks like Seret submitted while I wrote up mine … so might need to compare and contrast. He has heaps more PSC up his sleeve. ) Firstly, I must say it is “great feat of arms” for the British to go that far with only 1 Platoon. Also, the 12SS have done well keep their forces intact. When I dea...

Re: Close Combat 4 x dice to enemy player

So my example the British Section with 10 men, one of which is a Junior Leader would: • Move away from the enemy 3D6, • backs to the enemy • Roll BTH for routing Leader • Gain 8 points of Shock. • In their Phase they may be activated to move or fire as normal with the Shock level penalty. This soun...

Re: DO WE HAVE A SMOKE PROBLEM?

An interesting suggestion Munin. To be frank, as stated in the original post, I am loath to tinker with the rules too much. The house rule I was suggesting seemed to be a fix for a specific issue. (that Smoke was being used to block LOS for Close Combat). Richard has clarified that smoke does NOT bl...

Re: DO WE HAVE A SMOKE PROBLEM?

However, units moving through smoke are visible before they emerge, so I'd be inclined to give the LMG it's 4d6 bonus for being in arc, but not any additional dice for the part of assaulting unit's move that was on the other side of the smoke. Thanks Seret …. that is a nice compromise. Yes, attacke...

Re: DO WE HAVE A SMOKE PROBLEM?

YUP … 6yrs from "CoCkeral then not an old threadbare rooster" … you've done well. Personally, my journey to old rooster has been Quicker than I wished. :(

So, what do you think TT. SMOKE does not block LOS for Close Combat??

Re: DO WE HAVE A SMOKE PROBLEM?

I am pretty confident if you do a search on the forum that you will find that Rich has stated that smoke does not block movement or closing to assault. It only blocks LOS for firing. Huzzah … based on John's lead, I think I have found what he means. From the thread "Off board mortar clarifications"...

Re: DO WE HAVE A SMOKE PROBLEM?

John,

I did a search before I posted + some other research. I DID NOT find any comments by Richard on the forum. I recall some discussion earlier on Facebook but that is hard to search effectively.

Any Guidance would be appreciated …. please !!!
