Re: House rules for double moves and single sixes.

My mistake for not putting down the reasons I went for the house rules i suggested, rather than go with house rules already put forward in earlier threads. For completeness sake I will do so now, as I don’t want to annoy people who just throw up their hands and say ‘again???’ I may have missed a few...

Re: House rules for double moves and single sixes.

Thanks as always for the replies. Some thoughts I had based upon the feedback: Chain of Command Dice – in the games I have played the amount of Chain of Command dice that are generated vary hugely from game to game. Some games seem to have a load of them being generated and some, like my last game, ...

House rules for double moves and single sixes.

A recent game got us thinking about some possible house rules to do with rolling meaningless single sixes for activation dice, double moves, and also the need to roll a 1 for bringing on support teams from the 'O' group. It would be great to get some feedback on the house rules to see if there are e...

Re: Big CoC advice sought for introducing new players.

Thanks for all the replies and advice. I think having a normal game first with 2 players sharing a platoon sounds a sensible way to go. Then once we have had a game of that and everyone is up to speed, then either go for a Big CoC game with 2v2, or have 2 tables of 1 v 1. I may be able to find a fou...

Big CoC advice sought for introducing new players.

Sometime earlyish next year I am going to introduce three new players to CoC, with a four player game. It will be late war Brits v Germans in Normandy (my stuff is late war and I don’t have any winter terrain/figs ready yet). I was thinking that each person has a platoon – I actually have enough to ...

Re: Off board mortars question

On the other thread on barrages I thought about having the center point for the actual barrage box have a random shift (2d6") away from the barrage aim point every barrage activation after the very first one. Between activations the aim point remains in its normal place, it is just the center of the...

Re: Will CoC work with 3-2-1 basing?

I reckon it would work, so long as you have enough bases that you can easily make change to deal with the casualties and so forth. I think the squad weapons would need to be singles probably, or at least have some that are singles, so you can represent a squad weapon team down to one man, and all le...

Re: Possible Barrage House Rules

Thanks re my question about sighting for FOs - I now need to find FO figures holding cups of coffee! :D Also, the link was an interesting read, though most of it went over my head. Something that I thought was interesting: "The earlier Manual considers that medium mortars should normally be sub-allo...

Re: Possible Barrage House Rules

There seems to be varying opinions on how accurately mortar barrages of this sort could be moved around. Is there a consensus opinion on whether it is as precise as simulated in the rules, or some sources that talk about it that anyone is aware of?

Re: Early British Platoon Video

Good video. We need to add a servant and bicyclist runner to the British Platoons. Not so concerned about the runner, but going into battle without one's servant is just asking for trouble!
