Re: Shock and its effect on Infantry

Example: Rifle team with 5 points of Shock MG team with 3 points of Shock Are from the same section and within 4’” of each other. Movement This section can be activated as a whole to move on a command dice of 2 or by one initiative from a Leader and will reduce its movement by 8”. NO They both move ...

Re: Movement near the edge of a woods.

This is my opinion and how we play it, always happy to be corrected

It must more the total movement rolled? NO
Since it can define the edge of the woods it can opt to use only 2"of movement to stay outside the "see and can be seen zone"? YES

Re: HE Effect walls/forests

OK tactical only good in first bombardment

Off Table Mortars take in account troop quality except in forest when calculating to hit.

Re: HE Effect walls/forests

Ok, but you bring up another question. We have always played that in respect to hits from HE you ignore whether the soldiers are elite, regular or green. Your answer so regulars will be hit on a 4+ suggests otherwise. Also you can go tactical while under a barrage, I thought you could not move (go t...

HE Effect walls/forests

Another interesting came up in our last Von Luck game. The terrain has a forest and a orchard surounded by stone walls. How do you calculate the effect of HE from off table Mortar fire? Usually 5 and 6 are hits but in forest/orchards 4+ hits. But the troops are up against a high stone wall which is ...

Re: Turn 4-Von Luck Campaign

I agree we will have to have some discussion before the next game as the main piece of terrain is a large church that I presume is stone. It size alone would make it unlikey that it could be taken down in one phase and I agree that that the residual rubble in this case would likely be hard cover. John

Especially in the "Church on the Flank" scenario, if you deploy within LOS of the Germans, they'll just sit back and batter you into oblivion. Run a sort of reverse-slope type defence instead.
Let's hope I can figure it out!

Re: Turn 4-Von Luck Campaign

Here is the full relevant section from the rulebook: 10.3.6 H.E. AGAINST BUILDINGS H.E. fire from direct fire weapons or mortars will reduce any cover the target is in by one level. However, it will also potentially damage the structure. A building will become unstable if any gun firing H.E. rolls t...
