4) It can be deadly - every game I've seen has wound up with a lot of destroyed boats. But that might just be people behaving like wargamers.

No real idea about car hire, but all the usual suspects are at the airport and there are alternatives away from the airport that might be cheaper. Public transport into the city centre is excellent, buses or tram. Or you could take an (expensive) airport taxi. Best choice of transport would depend o...
