Re: the chargers start from within 15cm [9"]

If the time taken to change formation into square is 1 move the no because a full move for cavalry is 9" therefore it will take less than 9" to contact the infantry.
In the last rules that I used there was a hefty morale penalty for being charged while changing formation.

Re: Army lists for Human armies posted anywhere?

I'm a bit uneasy taking to people who don't like Humans.
I was going to ask the same question but my only experience of aliens is reading Dan Dare and all that was around Sol III.
And a load of E C Tubb novels more like Traveler which is squad level.

Re: Review of General d'Armee

GdA seems to have all that I like in the small games but and this is a big but, unit depth and width on a 6'x4' table is critical. If I use my current bases 20mm wide X 25mm deep of 2 ranks and 2 files for infantry and 25mm X 25mm 2 figures in one rank for cavalry, each figure representing 20 men. A...

Re: PC or TCHAE?

PC is designed for a figure ratio of 20 : 1 so all you need is an order of battle giving battalion strength. Depending on table size a brigade strength engagement could be fought on a 6x4 table. SP is for up to a figure ratio of 10 : 1 but it would just as easily play with larger unit groups.. You c...

Re: Basing for 6mm

The rules give a figure ratio of 100 : 1 for 15mm figures. Continental troops in the Napoleonic Wars fought in three ranks and the Brits & KGL fought in two ranks, in the Peninsula. If you are to fight historical battles. ie. Set out the battlefield on the table and place the figures in their histor...

Dux part 1 on you tube

I’ve looked for part 2 on you tube. But I can’t find hide nor hair of dead Mercians any wear. Any chance of a run through? Hopefully like the beasts of war “Let’s play CoC”. Christ mad is coming, and I’m looking for something before it ends up as a joint present of a food mixer or something ‘sensible’

Re: Advice sought on 1st Bull Run Orbat.

A bit late, but rather an afterthought. Where normal set up on the table and play a game falls down is all the things that happen before a battle. For instance, on the road to Gettysburg, I’ve forgotten who, confederate infantry are confronted by union cavalry deployed across the road. The cavalry h...
