Re: 2 pdr AT in BEF list - mistake or misunderstanding?

Years back we (the player community) ran into a similar problem with the Steel Panthers computer game where the armour system wasn't wide enough to allow for differences at the low end. There were only 254 integers to hold the armour/pen values for everything from the FT-17 to the M1A1 where "1" equ...

Re: Mine clearing team deployment question

But the real questions would be "How many points?" and "Is this a standard trouser press or an elite SS one?"

Re: Mine clearing team deployment question

I'd go with next activation. There is the old dictum that "an obstacle not covered by fire is not an obstacle." While painful for the Germans, the scenario played out exactly as it should have.

Re: Beginner Question - Basing

I use metal washers about penny sized since we stopped using pennies. Base to base they give about the right separation between men at the ground scale.

Rich did a Ferret repaint on the Lardie's blog. I have been looking for one myself but the prices over here are pretty steep.

Re: ELITES - A CAUTIONARY TALE

I think there is a problem with the basic conception of elites. Based on some very shaky numbers, the current US Military, which has been on special forces kick for the last few decades, has only about 5% of it's personnel in special forces (all branches) and only half of these are combat personnel ...

Re: Any thoughts on multiple phases ?

Kasserine pass comes to mind.

Unless your opponent is mucking with the dice, the laws of probability ensure this is a very rare occurrence.

Re: CoC too small for air strikes?

Just as a reminder, have a read through of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_friendly_fire_incidents#1944 . For Totalize and Tractable, the friendly positions were precisely known, the strike was well planned in advance (this wasn't a wandering fighter bomber pair looking for targets of opportun...

Re: CoC too small for air strikes?

Munin's idea is interesting but I would add: Roll one d6, on a 1-4 it attacks the target of your choice, on a 5-6 it attacks a target of your opponent's choice. ;)
