British Flamethrowers before Life Bouy type?

Hello all, Both the British 1940 list and 1941 North Africa list offer a flamethrower team as a support option. However I cannot find any reference to their use before 1943 when the Lifebouy type was introduced. I have found reference to the "Marsden" flamethrower but cannot find a picture and it is...

Support teams in close combat , rule clarification required?

Okay this is a weird one: I have checked the rule book and checked the forum but can't find any reference on how to handle support teams in close combat. I do know engineer teams surrender in close combat but what about snipers, mortars, gun crews etc. ?? We played a game yesterday and here was the c...

Re: PTO Here we go!

Yes Matilda, Stuart's and Bren carriers for Aussies. Maybe as a what if you could put in the Aussie made Sentinel tank. Eureka miniatures makes one in 15mm.

Ambush SPG tank killer

More thoughts on our first couple of games... In WWII tank killers like Stugs, SU152 etc.etc. would hide, camouflaged and wait for an enemy tank to come by, shoot it and then bug out quickly. As I read the rules, vehicles have to appear on the board edge and only AT guns or AT teams can perform an a...

Should kills also inflict shock?

We had a fairly brutal game of CoC where there were a lot of kills but not much shock applied to the sections. The result was we had sections reduced to only a few men but because there was no shock they kept fighting. This does appear to be an anomaly. On the one hand a kill means one less man in t...

Re: Russian mortar battery and FO?

Loving CoC and building my forces for the Winterstorm campaign book. Just picked up T-26,BT-5 and BA-10 from Zvezda for cheap as chips! I love the crappy early war light tanks and armoured cars.

Re: Russian mortar battery and FO?

Well based on that article Truscott I would certainly allow the mortar battery support option with FO for Russians. It did strike me as a strange omission to their support lists.
I will continue to soldier on with my soviets but maybe it's something to consider for an errata or later edition.

Re: Russian mortar battery and FO?

I had read that the Soviets had tons of artillery and could really plaster an area before an attack but the "pre game barrage" support option in no way can match the effect of an in game mortar barrage.
