Re: Is a 6' by 4' table large enough for CoC 28mm?

The size of the table is somewhat dependent on the density of terrain.
When we play city or village scenarion we usually play at a 4'x4' table with two players.
Last time we played a city fight, we were five players on a 6'x4' table (one armoured platoon) and had plenty of room for manouvers.

Re: stopping the runs

With six dices the probability is about 26,3% for at least two sixes. Lower than I first thought.

About 7% to get two phases in a row.
About 2% to get three phases in a row.

If you play as we do, with several player per side, it becomes very usual that at least someone gets two phases in a row.

Re: stopping the runs

If you have about 20% of getting 2 or more 6:s with 5 dice: The chance for two consecutive phases of 2 or more 6:s is about 4%. The chance for three consecutive phases of 2 or more 6:s is less then 1%. I can't see that it would be a great problem with many consecutive phases. If you uses 6 dices the...

Re: Covering Fire Minimum Requirements

I have a hard time understanding why an "Covering fire to overwatch" would make the standard overwatch redundant. I assume that when covering fire is converted you may only fire at the unit trying to cross the covering fire. Overwatch will normally cover a bigger area (except if you have a very rest...

Re: Things what I learned yesterday….

I do not know how you prepare your games, but at our club we are usually where open with our list before a game, if it is not prepared by a third party (which is the usual way for us). After all its not a fun game if some of the players aren't enjoying it. I find having the game set up by someone el...

Re: Russian mortar battery and FO?

Regarding Pre-game-barrage: If you would apply real life effect of a preparatory barrage it might be a really boring CoC game. It would be a big risk that the defender platoon would be totally destroyed or put out of action. I think that the way CoC handles pre-game-barrage is a good balance between...

Re: Firing Bazooka/shrek from a vehicle

3 MMG's equals 30 shoots which will turn out to be 5 6's in average. Only table "net two hits" kills vehicle thus you need 4 6's. To have 50% of killing the vehicle you need 4 6's or 24 shots. To cause two kills on a regular team in light cover in close range you also need 24 shot on average. You wi...

Re: Firing Bazooka/shrek from a vehicle

Small arms fire vs. soft-skin. Passengers and crew count as in light cover. If two 6's are rolled when firing, roll on the "net zero hits" table. If three 6's are rolled when firing, roll on the "net one hits" table. If four or more 6's are rolled when firing, roll on the "net two hits" table. Perha...

Re: Firing Bazooka/shrek from a vehicle

On this I agree with Seret. Regarding mortars: If I'm not entirely misinformed, British Carrier Platoons could fire the 2" mortar both from inside and outside the vehicle. Larger mortar is of cause outside the scope of CoC due to range. Firing the mortar ad hoc from a Jeep is perhaps more dubious. I...
