Re: Help with Pre-Winter War Soviets

TT, Thanks for looking! The mech & tank organization during this time period is in a bit of flux, so anything looking at changes just before Barbarossa doesn’t get this far back. Here are a couple of other clues that I’ve found, just to add to your data file. 1 - this is the translation of a Russian...

Help with Pre-Winter War Soviets

Folks, I’ve run into a bit of a dead end with my research on pre-Winter War Organization for the Soviets, so thought I’d reach out and see if the Lardy Hive mind can help. It looks like the Soviets reorganized their Rifle Divisions in September 1939 to the 15 man squads. Prior to that, they were usi...

Re: 28mm MDF Buildings for Normandy

I know I’m finding out about several companies that I didn’t know existed. We are spoiled for choice in terrain now!

Re: 28mm MDF Buildings for Normandy

EC, Thanks for that as Empires at War was not on my radar. I’ll go take a look now! Surprisingly, Sarissa often works out to be cheaper than the other options when ordering from the US due to their flat rate shipping. I don’t think that’s going to change, so really if I’m going to order things from ...

28mm MDF Buildings for Normandy

Folks, While we are on lockdown, I’ve been working on getting stalled projects completed and for me that includes forces for Operation Martlet & Scottish Corridor that have been sitting unpainted for, well, years. Now the problem is Terrain for Normandy, or more specifically, Buildings. So who would...

Re: Eastern Front Partisans

Osprey has a brand new "Soviet Partisan vs. German Security Troops" or some such in their Combat series. Yes they do and it’s actually pretty good. The author is Alexander Hill who’s an academic working in this area. Unfortunately most of the other Ospreys about Partisans are primarily picture book...

Re: Eastern Front Partisans

Well have been contemplating Warsaw 44 uprising campaign for some time but you have to tread very carefully when dealing with such controversial topics. The challenge is to neither whitewash the bad stuff nor to gratuitously focus on it, especially if it’s not salient to the situation being gamed. ...

Re: Eastern Front Partisans

I did some lists for those forces a while back and I've got a draft of a mini campaign written up but tbh it could use a re-write. Partisan list German security platoon list The rough sketch for the campaign was to have the partisans attack a German outpost guarding a road. If they take it the Germ...

Eastern Front Partisans

Folks, In an attempt to distract myself from the dumpster fire that is reality right now, I've started trying to piece together how to construct a Soviet Partisan & German Security troops campaign, probably centered around 281 Security Division behind AG North. Unfortunately, detailed, reliable info...
