Re: Scenario from Battle of Gettysburg

Thank you for the kind words! In my opinion, SP works very well for ACW.

Concerning Gettysburg buildings, I've just started to build Christ Lutheran Church - let's see if I can finish it over the holidays...

Scenario from Battle of Gettysburg

Hi, for those interested in the ACW, I have posted a skirmish scenario from the Battle of Gettysburg on my blog: https://wargamingraft.wordpress.com/2019/12/23/fighting-at-the-forney-farm-a-scenario-for-sharp-practice/ I have played it this week and will post an AAR in the next days. All the best, T...

Re: Sidneys challenge

This was a most excellent video, I really enjoyed it a lot, and WW2 is not even one of my main interests!

Will you also produce a video on how to translate what you have learned from the road trip to a scenario? I would be really interested in this process...

Re: Casualties

Thanks for the hints, those are some great figures! Unfortunately, I need ACW ones in 15mm. The Peter Pig poses are a bit too much in the "dying in a very theatrical way" style for me. I just read The Gettysburg Campaign in Numbers and Losses and it again reminded me that casualty rates tended to be...

Re: Casualties

Interesting question. So far, I haven't used casualty figures, as I don't really feel comfortable about modeling the dead. Sure, it's sanitized, but so are almost all tabletop armies I've seen - very few people paint faded, dirty and ragged uniforms. At least with SP, one would also have to take int...

Re: Peninsula war urban combat - house rules

Hi!

Thanks, I'm very interested , I'm thinking about devising a scenario about urban combat in Gettysburg on the first day if the battle, when the Union was retreating through the town.
The amount of buildings I'll need causes me some headache though... :)

Re: Form Up & Formation Change Question

Ok, I read the FAQ and I read the rules again and I think I understand it now - Formation Changes take one action for the units if using the Form Up order. Thanks four your help and sorry for the misunderstanding, but I'm a bit shocked - I've played over 30 games of SP2 and it seems I've always play...

Re: Form Up & Formation Change Question

John, maybe I fundamentally misunderstood the rules, but I was under the impression that "Form Up" is not a unit activation, but a Leader activation (p. 23 of the rulebook states that "the groups do not use any Actions to do this"). Page 34 of the rulebook states how formation changes can be done us...
