Re: Scale question - thinking of switching to 15mm from 28mm
IMHO, the larger base sizes of 28s mess with things a bit when interacting with terrain, which either has to take up more space on the table/battlefield to accommodate the bigger minis (perhaps to an unrepresentative degree) or present problems meshing with the base sizes (which equal 10' if 25mm?)....

Re: Hidden/Secret Command Dice
"Can't really see it enhancing the game experience and too open to abuse... I also think your opponent is entitled to see your rolls...he should be able to see at a glance how many [6s] were rolled." Dunno about whether it would make the game better...I suppose I posted to see if anyone m...

Hidden/Secret Command Dice
Possible house rule: Players do not see the CD rolls of their opponent. This could add a fog-of-war element to play by raising doubts as to the 'cards' held by the players - both in how they may/may not deploy/use their force as well as what they may have for support? The accumulation of CoC dice wo...

I think I have a bit of extra crazy stashed somewhere - I'll dig it out and send it your way...I think you'll be needing it! ; )

Re: basing for 15mm figures
another tangent... "Given that 15mm is pretty much true scale for CoC..." With that in mind, I'm curious about the large sizes used/recommended. I've based my 15s on ~10mm thin plasticard. Aside from the tabletop aesthetic (a personal choice: I'm not a fan of the 'plinth' base) the objecti...

Re: Flivver - shock marker
Graham,
They look good but are too large (at least in comparison to my 10mm dia x 0.5mm thick bases).

Re: Flivver - shock marker
"...how do you make them?" Pieces-Parts = thumbtack, 2x .020" styrene discs (top one sanded down from 20 to 18mm dia), pop rivet (sans shank). shock marker pieces.jpg Thumbtack and pop rivet lengths cut down, top disc drilled for tack and notched for 'window', bottom disc drilled for...

Flivver - shock marker
Putzing around the cellar on a cold day (Minnesota, US). Tried making a shock marker along the lines of the Force Morale dials I recall seeing (back when it was still above freezing...). Question: Is the visual impact (ie: annoyance factor) of the dial under one of the team members great enough to o...

Re: Random Events?
I've only had a half-cup of coffee (GMT-5) so my thinking may not be clear, but...
Aren't the odds of the proposal the same as rolling doubles? ...and wouldn't that generate too many events? dunno...

Re: Recce/patrol phase
I reckon it would look good to put men or vehicles on the appropriate sized bases Okay, I'm being lazy and not going to look at the rules, so forgive the silly question: Why would bases be needed?...isn't measurement done center-to-center? I'd always planned to just use figures from the forces them...
