Re: Plast Craft Games 15mm EWAR buildings

The Plast Craft website describes these as being 15-20mm scale. Does this mean they end up a bit on the big side for 15mm?

Re: Trying to adapt CoC to the Vietnam Conflict

I've still been grinding my brain against the ARVN. Not sure what special rules (if any) to give them. If they don't get any rules how would they been balanced against forces that do. Put another way, what makes ARVN interesting? Outside of historical rigor, what would make people want to play them?...

Re: Trying to adapt CoC to the Vietnam Conflict

Random thoughts: How different were the VC vs the NVA? My impression is that the division between the two was porous at best at least in terms of NVA vs 'main force' VC. I'd imagine the VC would have better fieldcraft but worse equipment. Perhaps no distinction is needed, and a VC force is simply on...

Re: Trying to adapt CoC to the Vietnam Conflict

Okay, cool. The final product will not be sold unless something drastically changes. It's too bad that you've been unable to find much in the way of ARVN infantry organization. I guess it's nice to know that my inability to find much is more than just me being bad at researching these things. :? :) ...

Re: Trying to adapt CoC to the Vietnam Conflict

For the major forces I've generally been able to find my own sources. However, if this project gets to the point of adding smaller, more obscure formations I might end up mostly or entirely using the material from Wargames Vault. Since this would mean basically publishing platoon organizations, it w...

Re: Trying to adapt CoC to the Vietnam Conflict

I've also removed the sources line, but I can assure you that the charts are still compiled from primary and secondary sources, plus some educated guesswork on my part based on my knowledge of other contemporary organizations from time to time. I'm sure you've got your reasons, but I really liked b...

Re: Trying to adapt CoC to the Vietnam Conflict

@Seret Thanks for the link! Another example I've seen of helicopters being used is in the 'Big CoC on Africa' article from the TFL Summer 2014 Special. The way they have it working is that the helicopters can only be activated by spending a Chain of Command die. This seems like an interesting way to...

Re: Trying to adapt CoC to the Vietnam Conflict

I was going off the arsenal list Arlequín put together: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/104842892/CoC%20Pax%20Americana%20Arsenal.pdf By his own admission, it was a work in progress that kinda got abandoned: http://toofatlardies.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=1195&p=11213#p11213 I've b...

Re: Trying to adapt CoC to the Vietnam Conflict

I was reading through the CoC army lists trying to get inspiration and found a few things of note: The French and the Romanians both have a crudier 2nd 'senior' leader that is just a Junior Leader that can influence anyone in the platoon. This could be useful for armies that have a high emphasis on ...

Re: Trying to adapt CoC to the Vietnam Conflict

Thanks for the feedback on my Morale thoughts, lots of good points against any sort of bonuses. If the Japanese don't get any, it probably doesn't make sense here. Another thought: allow the NVA/VC take a rifleman from a squad(s) that would act like a less powerful sniper. Maybe keep the spotting ru...
