Re: Ok another newbie question,

A Musician at one Point is a good Support Option to give a +1 when rolling to cease Uncontrolled Fire. Very much a "must have" for Militia Troops.

Re: Attacking a Signal Tower - Scenario ideas?

Great idea for a scenario. I'm thinking a rider comes galloping up to the signal tower. He has a message about an impending British attack on French forces that must go out or the French will suffer a terrible defeat. The message has no more than four parts each describing the location and timing of...

Re: moving into cointact

Move forward with one action so now you should be within visibility range. Now charge into contact with your remaining action. Or just assume that's what is being done and roll two dice as suggested by Captain Reid. Second way is quicker and easier. First way avoids conflict with those "Rules Lawyer...

Re: Rescue Mission

Well in this case it was a small building, a log cabin with one door in front and one window in the back. The eight guards and one prisoner barely fit inside. So in this case one could probably rule they would surrender or you could assume the attackers got inside and then fought another melee next ...

Rescue Mission

We were playing Scenario 6 out of the Rules Book: Rescue Mission. My unit is assaulting the building with the prisoner in it and wins the fisticuffs by one. The Defenders are supposed to Retire, but where do they retire to? Its only if you win by four does it say the Defender surrenders if they have...

Re: Retire and Present

Another good question. I can see a unit flinching back one or two inches and still having to fire uncontrolled, but a push back more than that I think would interrupt their firing. Would be interested to see how others play this.

Retire and Present

Does a unit that is Presented and is forced to Retire due to excess Shock loose it's Present Status?

Re: Crossing Obstacle & Light Infantry

Our Group is very liberal with the Skirmisher Free move. We allow it to be used with crossing an obstacle so the Unit could use the free movement die with another die to cross a low fence and then still have one Action left. Or it could use one Action(Fire, Reload, Etc..) and then cross an obstacle ...

Re: Help for a newbie at Fall In!

Historical game conventions like "Fall In" and " Historicon" must be completely different from Fantasy gaming conventions. One is NEVER expected to bring their own figures to play at "Fall In" or any other HMGS Convention. Game Masters provide all the figures. I highly recommend you pre-reg and sign...

Re: Formation "no shock"

For Militia Units that have the No Shock in the Formation Characteristic, it's very advantageous to have a Holy Man with a Relic as Support Options. Has save my bacon more than once.
