Re: augustus to aurelian

You are welcome to my copy; I have the PDF and also a printed out copy, which you can have for the price of postage.
Bought it and tried it but it really wasn't to my taste at all.

Re: New firing charts for Kriegspeil

As I recall there was a revised version of Kriegspiel published in 1862 by Tschischwitz - that would seem to be the best starting point for Franco-Prussian War.
Funnily enough the Lardies publish it, as well as the original 1824 set:

No pivoting on the spot or crossing walls for halftracks.

Re: Availability of 1/72 low tier vehicles, especially starter tanks

The old Airfix 'infantry combat group' figures were tiny - more like 1:87 scale. They worked with the Roco figures in that scale.

Re: Availability of 1/72 low tier vehicles, especially starter tanks

Aside from SHQ, Skytrex have a (rather overpriced) selection covering A9, A10 and such like. Fujimi used to do a Pzjgr I kit, and Airfix do the Mark VI light tank. Someone does the Somua in kit form, Matchbox do the Char B1 and FT17. I have resin H35 and R35 models and an A10 and A13 but I can't rem...

Re: 1:100 (15mm) scale or 1:56 (28mm) scale?

I have quite a few minitanks vehicles. Back in the 70s they were often the only option available for some vehicles, we we just ignored the fact they were too small. If you look at Charles Grant's 'Battle' rules you'll see minitanks in many of the pictures.

Re: How much strike should HMGs have?

I, too have given a great deal of thought to this problem, and feel the system cannot cope as stands with MG fire, or HE, for that matter. One solution may be to make MG fire able to inflict only command dice loss (Impossible hits)-- that might work? :?: :?: :?: The problem is, a HMG CAN penetrate ...

Re: How much strike should HMGs have?

2 dice - that way they can never blow up a tank, but they can damage it.

Moving off the table

We had something happen last night that the rules don't cover. A damaged Stug had backed up against the table edge. It was hit by fire from a T28, with equal strikes and saves, and had to retreat 5". So it backed off the table. What happens? We rule that the crew has suffered morale failure and bugg...
