Re: Company commander action

On page 34 under the Company Commander section it says that the unit receiving the second action must be within 18” of the company commander. Since the unit has not deployed on the table yet, it is not technically within 18” of the CC; so, I would think it would not be eligible for the second order....

Field Defences Cost

I am very interested in using field defences in some scenarios; but, I am concerned about their use unbalancing the scenario. The other posts indicate they can be used by mutual agreement with the players. If I am playing the defender I personally would like to keep any static defenses secret until ...

Re: Border Between Companies

It sounds like the reserves action allows you to either deploy two units on an existing sector, or redeploy the armour to another company. It doesn’t mention anything about changing the sector boundaries. So, my thought would be for any boundary changes to cost an HQ order. I like this rule, as it p...

Re: Border Between Companies

Thanks for the responses guys. So, in a nutshell, the company sectors are rigid in that there should be no crossover; however, at the same time they are flexible in that they can be changed pretty much as needed to fit a particular situation. Would either of you recommend using the house rule of usi...

Re: Border Between Companies

I’d like to shift the boundary of the conversation slightly (HQ order paid). Using the Cristot scenario as an example, let’s assume A Coy’s sector is the left of the road, while B Coy’s is right of the road. A few turns go by and it’s time to bring in C Coy. I need to establish a company boundary fo...

Re: HE vs open topped APCs

I think rather than trading my dice in I would have gone into the garage, procured my 2 lb shop hammer, lined all the offending dice up, smashed the first one in plain view of the others; then, checked to see if the rest of them finally started rolling better. If not, repeat the process until either...

Re: GDA2

My vote is to leave it in. I love a good scrap; and, the melees let me roll a lot of dice (albeit not a bucket - maybe half a bucket). . . 😁 What can I say? I love the sound of a lot of bones rattling in my cupped hands!! With regard to the optional rules/revised rules debate, I like the idea of pre...

Re: GDA2

Basically, I’m in the “A” camp as well, with one or two changes/additions. 1) The C-in-C’s location should have an effect of some sort. I like the suggestion of re-rolling a Hesitant roll if in close proximity to the brigadier. 2) The Hesitant roll is frustrating. A brigade of conscripts has the sam...

Desert terrain

I’m trying to work up a US/German desert scenario using a couple of armored battalions in a meeting engagement and had a couple of terrain questions. I’m thinking of treating areas of soft sand as rough terrain with the potential for bogging as normal. But, I’m not sure how to treat wadis. Should th...
