Re: Vehicle Flame Throwers

In CoC terms, the Crocodile with a full 400 gallon load would have 100 seconds of 'ammunition', so ought to be unlimited.

Most other vehicles with flamethrowers were far less well provided for and I can't imagine you'd get much dissent if you limited a 251/16 to 4 bursts.

Re: Sherman Flail/other mine clearing additions

The driver's periscope had a shield over it but that wouldn't have helped with vision, only minimising 'collateral' damage. It should only drive forward in a straight line - no change of direction as neither the driver or command could see beyond the front of the hull, though I'd suspect it would wa...

Sherman Flail/other mine clearing additions

There was a discussion a couple of years back that a search turned up but no clear conclusion as to whether you should combine the basic support cost of the tank and add 1, being the cost of the equivalent mine clearing team. Having added a Sherman Flail and a bull's horn plough to my arsenal (both ...

Re: 1940 Dutch Farm Fields

16mm [or 20/32 of an inch if you prefer proper measurements ;-) ] Can also buy it ready fixed to posts - 130mm per section. No work needed to get them on the table. Posts are a bit thick though - more like tree trunks (IMHO), so good old match sticks and a loop of cotton to hold it on probably bette...

Re: 1940 Dutch Farm Fields

Jarvis do the mesh fencing in OO scale - a tad under £1.50 for a 6' roll. Just need a fist full of match sticks and something suitable for basing the fence run.

Re: 17th SS PzG Div - Normandy

Nafziger, quoting OKH records of May '44 has them with a single battalion of Mk IVs (4 coys of 17) which by June had been replaced with StuGs (3 coys of 14) and neither of the Pz Grenadiers Regts having an armoured battalion. The Recce battalion had an A/C coy (18 20mm & 24 LMGs). The 17th SS Panzer...

Re: New to COC

I base my 20mm figs on 1p coins, JLs on 2p coins and SL on 20 x 40mm MDF bases. Teams go on 40 x 40mm MDF bases with 2 figs permanently fixed and any crew above that on 'standard' coin bases. MDF bases came from Minibits who also do a range of dice frames with dice to match which for CoC can be used...

Re: Recce Troop

Scout Platoon from the British Infantry Div's Recce Regt wouldn't be difficult - 1 recce section of 2 A/Cs and 3 Lt Recce Cars plus 2 carrier sections each of 3 Carriers. Lot of fire power potentially but all small 3-4 man teams led by a JL (1 per section ought to be led by a SL). Organic supports w...

Re: 20 mm figures to mix with Esci plastics

Just found a set of instructions and an unopened pack - my river boats were made by SDD. Looks like they ceased to be available about 10 years ago

Re: 20 mm figures to mix with Esci plastics

You could try SHQ's Vietnam range. Bought mine a good few years back, along with various river boats (manufacturer uncertain). Range not so great now but should cover most requirements.
