Re: Advice for first CoC game?
As I don't have any markers, I'm defintely going to use some suitable looking infantry miniatures for Patrol Phase. Ok, so you can't stack them on one spot, but that can be accommodated.

Re: Advice for first CoC game?
Thanks for the advice everyone. Summarised thus far.. 1: Practice the Patrol Phase through a couple of times, before the real event. 2: The 'Probe' scenario, played lengthways, is a good choice. 3: Get plenty of scenery on the board. 4: Keep support options modest\absent. 5: Use some standard Platoo...

Advice for first CoC game?
Hi I have my first CoC game lined up in a few weeks - 2 players and myself as referee. We've played plenty of wargames previously, but I'm keen for our first game to go well :D Are there any recommended scenarios or platoon match ups that are recommended? Or perhaps more importantly, any that are ad...

Re: Normandy Roads?
I'd be happy to share my expereinces when I make them. I have tried previously using some cork mounted on 12" lengths of foamcard, with some fancy tarmac look-alike acrylic paste on top (AK Interacive I think). It was all going well until the foamcard badly warped and I gave up in irritation! This t...

Re: Easy Dry Stone Walls
Thanks for sharing the advice. I've spent the last week making some of these and they've worked very well. Lacking Lego I made some simple molds out of foam card. As long as you line it with sellotape to stop it from sticking to the foamcard, they work very well.

Re: Normandy Roads?
Cheers for the thoughts, I think you're right looking back at the Google images. Those apparently dirt roads are very flat... I think I might aim for hard tops, then apply some heavy weathering (dirt) as taste\whim takes me. I do remember some of the French towns being heavily cobbled in the centres...

Normandy Roads?
I'm trying to determine what surface or material was used in Normandy (1944!) to make roads. I've looked at a few images but I don't have a conclusive answer. I expect that a variety of materials were in use, but I'm not sure what was the most commonly found? cobbles in villages\towns tarmac\asphalt...

Re: Do any Pint-Sized Campaigns contain lists with STG44s?
Or the Sturmtiger.... I've wanted a reason to buy one of those for a long time. They don't really look 'real'. Andsyk - I appreciate the history info btw, very interesting. It makes me realise I've never read a good book describing the 1944-45 period from the Axis perspective. All too easy to concen...

Re: Do any Pint-Sized Campaigns contain lists with STG44s?
> However, if you do want to use a few for a Late War platoon and your opponent is content, then subtituting a couple of STG44s for rifles in the 3 squads of a platoon would increase its Force Rating by +1. That's a pretty easy calculation, preferable to proxying in my mind. I like WYSIWYG in WWII a...
