Re: Civil War!

Absolutely. I’m sure this is something that Rich will explore further, but the Late Republican lists will work perfectly for Caesar v Pompey and the EIR list are ideal for AD69 Year of the 4 Emperors. One of the early public playtest games (way back when we could go to shows) presented by Rich was a...

Re: Books that cover the period.

Oh and don’t forget the wide range of historical fiction which is great for flavour and scenarios. The Eagle series by Simon Scarrow is well known and recommend. Roman “Sharpe” springs to mind but none the worse for the comparison. And lots of double dealing, duplicitous natives and treasonous Roman...

Re: Infamy

Excited to see Infamy with it’s own section on the TFL Forum.

Really looking forward to the discussions on here as the rules start to hit the streets next week.

Re: Infamy, Infamy! at York - Fantastic!!

Thanks for the great write up Nick and glad you enjoyed the game. I should say the credit for all the rules go to Mr Clarke. He after all wrote them, and came up with all the clever rules which as you say help to reflect the period so well. Thank you to everyone else who came along on Sunday and eit...

Re: Lard Games at Shows

We will be at York (today!) with Infamy, Infamy! We’ll also be bringing II to Hammerhead (definitely) and probably a Partizan as well so should be 2 opportunities to play at Partizan. II is shaping up to be a great game and I’m excited about showing it off before it actually gets released. Rich has ...

The event will now take place on Saturday 19th September 2020.

Please update your diaries.

Thanks

John

Re: ANCIENT SHARP PRACTICE

I can’t speak for Rich, but I know he is interested in Romans v various hairy barbarian types. So far I’ve got list for Early Imperial Romans, Britons, Germans and Dacians which we are working on. A few small tweaks to the Roman list should bring Caesarian and Britons to Gauls so these are likely to...

Re: ANCIENT SHARP PRACTICE

SPA (like SP) is a large skirmish rather than the more traditional small skirmish games such as SPQR which tend to have a dozen or so figures a side (more a scuffle than a skirmish 😉). To give you an idea of size (but clearly how big or small is entirely down to you) these are the forces I ran for t...
