I usually use a 6'x4' mat with 40mm hexes in my games which gives plenty of room though we do have to occasionally have to move all the planes if they drift too close to the edge. I know it seems to be compulsory at US conventions to run large multi-player games, but I would strongly advise you to ...

Map size vs number of aircraft

Good morning, I am thinking about running BtH at a convention in October and being brand new to the game I was hoping for some advice. Right now I am planning on using Plastic Soldier 1:300 aircraft on 30mm hex bases. I am thinking a 1.5" hex grid would work but I'm struggling with how big of a map ...

I played it this past weekend for the first time in 28mm on a 6x8 set up and it was great. We had 8 tanks going (1 tank per person) and it was a ton of fun.
