Re: Charge

Hi Nick

I forgot about the rule amendment in the FAQ....So yes I responded with a ruling out the book but again I forgot the amendment.

So basically if charged within 15" the infantry still take a DT...but only to try and stand as they can't form square.

Re: Charge

Hi John. I too have played that a unit who was unformed in the charge phase due to being interpentrated by freindly units can not fire on the charging unit due to the distance but the rules say If the chargers start from within 15cm [9"], there is insufficient time for the defenders to react and no ...

Hi John, I thought Infantry in line always had to take a discipline test regardless of what their response may be?
Nick
hi there.
Not if the chargers are within 15" as there is no time to react to the chargers pelting in at close quarter. So no discipline test is carried out.

Re: Charge/Melee Questions

Hi Any supporting unit will retire and lose one casualty and become unformed. This equates for all supporting units who's friendly unit was charged and requires, retreats, routs and also dispersed. As for an attacker charging two units then each unit being charged role separate dice and the higher r...

Re: Demoralized units

Hi.
I've played it that if two units in a brigade and one is dispersed then once the other unit loses 50% of its original strength then it becomes demoralised ... that's just my unwritten rule though.

Re: Charging a unit to the flank

I'd say absolutely right.

Wheeled using your bonus move ✔

Charged percinticulaler to your font✔

No line of sight but within 15cm of target ✔

Sounds like a glorious legal charge to me.

Re: Army point values

Why not use the grading of line for your landwehr and allow them to fire as line at the same time until they are no longer fresh then revert back to recruit as landwehr / inferior volley. Thus giving them some limited firepower as large battalions.

Re: Prohibited supports / melee

Hi John

Thanks for clarification on Q2.

The question on support is how I played it but playing solo sometimes you doubt yourself and over think the basic rules.

Again John I appreciate the help
